About

A performer, composer, and arranger, Chris’s musical work has appeared on television and radio, in video games and in various other outlets such as PBS, History Channel, Lifetime, CNN and Rock Band. Since 2012 he has been a regular composer for PBS’s Visionaries (hosted by actor Sam Waterston of NBC’s Law & Order and HBO’s Grace and Frankie).

He has performed around the US and Europe, sharing the stage with/opening for such diverse acts as Grace Potter, Styx, The Smithereens, George Thorogood, Phosphorescent, Graham Parker, Strands Of Oak, Patti Smith, Josh Ritter, Lucius, and others. He even opened the main stage at the Newport Folk Festival in 2013.

He has performed/recorded with big bands, indie rock, electronica, folk, country, soul, chill, glam, psych, pop and more. While interested and adept in music of all kinds, he is especially interested in those areas where genres and sounds blend: old meets new, the electronic meets the acoustic.

Chris is currently a member of the Boston Music Award winning “punk folk” band Kingsley Flood, folkcore Christians & Lions, Pop-psych collective The Elderly, fun Christmas music duo Space Cranes, the silent film scoring/performing group The Sepia Tones and experimental electronic collective funf, as well as his own solo pop work under the moniker Dr Vorhees. He was a founding member of Boston Music Award winning and 2013 Rock ‘n’ Roll Rumble Winners Eddie Japan.

In addition to all this Chris has arranged horns/strings for and/or played horns for acts including Jenee Halstead, Rick Berlin, Aloud, Larry Banilow, Sarah Blacker, Annie Brobst, Fil Pacino, The Weisstronauts, and The Luxury among others.
